Desperate College Student is Searching Guideline for His Final Project

Who is this desperate college student? Do you figure out who he/she is? He/ She must be same as me, as engineering college student.

I am doing final project now. I don’t know where place to start to. Looking around many forum over on the internet make me feel like crazy. This heavy pressure…

What should I do? My supervisor didn’t help me. Then day by day I didn’t do anything.

I think I can finish my project this semester but I can’t. This reality came beyond my imagination. I can’t concentrate about my project. What should I do?

My final project is “Design and Implementation of Mobile Robot Sound Tracker Based on Artificial Neural Network”. So what is the main principle of system? I found it. This system includes Mobile Robot, Digital Signal Processing, and Artificial Neural Network. After that search through internet and found few forums. I think I will… What should I post?

Here is the list of electronic forums:

http://findit-fixit.sensorsmag.com/

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/

http://www.audiotstation.com/forum/

http://forums.di.fm/

http://aimusic.com/forum/

http://artificialintelligence.the-aria.net/board/

http://justbasic.conforums.com/

I hope at this forum I would find the answer of my problem.

Hello, Probably i'll can help you. My final proyect was about "Delay estimation and incidence direction estimation". I can recommend some bibliography. The best book i found about this problem was "Digital signal processing - Seller & Proakis - Prentice Hall, 1993". My edition is in spanish, i suppose there is an edition in english too. I saw your post at onintelligence and i recommend an algorithm called Adaptative decomposition of autovalues. This algorithm works well with reverberation. You can use too algorithms based on cross correlation, they are easy to develope but they works bad with reverberation and then you should do your tests outdoor (less reverberation). I recommend to use FFT to improve the algorithm speed. You don't need to use neural networks to solve this problem because the algorithms give byself the solution. Perhaps you can use the neural network to move the robot to the sound source. If you have more doubts about digital signal processing answer this comment. Good luck.
